About James

James Noble was born in West Yorkshire, England, but went on an adventure to Cumbria and hasn’t been seen since! A member of The British Fantasy Society, his debut novel, Illusions & Shadows, is set in the whimsical world of Indigo.

An alumnus of the University of York and a keen globetrotter, James combines his knowledge of history with personal travel experiences to create satirical and absurdist narratives. His work holds a mirror up to mainstream issues with a light-hearted twist, often through the eyes of naive or stubborn characters.

When he’s not writing or teaching in schools, it is said that James can be found exploring a corner of the world, pretending he’s the next Johnny Marr while playing guitar, or shutting himself away like a goblin to draw fictional maps and listen to Led Zeppelin on repeat!
